Rocky Creek

Lithgow, NSW
No rope needed here. Rocky Creek is a half kilometre of narrow dark slots and easy climb downs, punctuated by a feature locals call the Washing Machine and long swims past sculpted walls.
Short and easy, with no rappels, just climb downs and a couple of mini jumps, which makes it a reasonable pick for a first slot canyon trip. It can also be reached on foot from the end of Twister Canyon downstream. Driving in runs Bells Line of Road to the Zig Zag Railway, then Newnes Forest Road, Glow Worm Tunnel Road, and Galah Mountain Road to the car park. Most parties reverse back out the way they came rather than take either of the two harder exits, one a steep scramble and the other a grade 10 rock climb.
