Pontirone's lower run opens wide before narrowing into white and gray granite: a 20 meter rappel drops into a 45 meter follow up that lands you in the gorge proper, then a string of shorter drops and a final downclimb carry you out almost before you notice.
Park before the bridge about four kilometers out of Biasca toward Lucomagno-Malvaglia. Twenty rappels total per ropewiki, longest 50 meters; call OFIBLE going in and coming out (see permit).
