AtlasWaterpocket Fold

...must be on dope

verified Ungraded Unknown flood risk

A Waterpocket Fold route known only by its two names, this one and Inherently Dangerous. The RopeWiki entry carries coordinates and a permit flag and nothing else: no rappel count, no length, no descent beta.

There is no published route description to work from, so this is an exploratory day in Capitol Reef backcountry, not a trip you can plan off a page. The park requires a free canyoneering permit for every technical route inside its boundary (self serve kiosk at the visitor center or care_permits@nps.gov), caps groups at eight, and prohibits new fixed anchors and power drills, so every anchor has to be one you can build and retrieve. The pair of names is the only beta anybody left behind.
