A three day, two night through trip links the Sumidero2 entrance to the Rio La Venta resurgence, crossing rapids, possible sumps and archaeological river galleries. Expert cavers only: access is an informal arrangement with landowner Manuel or Grupo Jaguar, not a government permit, and a small donation toward cave upkeep is customary.

Allow 5-6 hours for the climb back out. All ropes in the cave are set except for two at the entrance. You need two ropes: 15 m for the entrance, 10 m to descend to the first room.
