  Described on RopeWiki as one contender for Europe's best canyon, the Bares plunges 700 meters over 3200 meters of granite above Lago di Como. Rappel count runs 24 to 46 depending on route choice, with a typical descent of nine to thirteen hours.

  Cuccio

  In Val Cavargna, four rappels carry the Cuccio's full 140 meters of vertical over 500 meters, the longest a 65 meter drop. Aquatic rating a4 means real water in the descent, and a 5.8 kilometer shuttle links the two ends. Season runs Jul through Oct.
