AtlasCrete - Lasithi

Zonari and Sarakina

verified ACA 4C II High flood risk Metaxochori, Lasithi

Two linked Ierapetra gorges run as one 3500 m spring outing, combining a 115 ft rappel with the most committing swift water in Lasithi.

Ropewiki titles the page with a plus sign joining the two gorge names; the slug here joins them with a hyphen and the name with 'and' to keep the corpus ASCII clean. Also published as Zonari-Sarazinaschlucht and as Zonari + Sarakina + Right, which suggests a variant that adds a right hand branch. Shares the same 20 km shuttle logistics as nearby Lapathos, so the two pair well on one trip. Most recent ropewiki condition report dates to 3 Mar 2012. Red tape field is blank.

TechnicalACA grade 4C II (v4a3 III) with a swift water flag. Maximum rappel 115 ft. 3500 m long, 500 m deep, required 20.0 km shuttle. Ropewiki does not publish a rock type. The v4 vertical rating combined with a3 water makes this the hardest combined problem of the Lasithi canyons in this atlas.
SeasonSpring
Flood riskHigh. This is the one Lasithi entry carrying both an a3 aquatic rating and an explicit swift water tag, and ropewiki restricts it to spring, which on Crete is the runoff window.
