A 1.2 mi schist canyon on Kukavica losing 984 ft, with roped waterfall descents and the stepped Đokini virovi pools under 30 and 36 ft falls.

Sold as the Porečje-Vučje adventure, so search under that name as well as under the river. This sits in far southern Serbia, several hours from the Ljubovija cluster, and is a genuinely separate scene rather than a variant of it. The medieval ruins of Skobaljić grad stand above the canyon. Rock here is crystalline schist, not the limestone that characterises the western Serbian and Bosnian canyons. Coordinates below are for the settlement of Vučje; the canyon begins roughly 2 km upstream and no put-in coordinate is published.

ManagerNot documented. The canyon lies on the northern slopes of Mount Kukavica in Leskovac municipality. No protected area designation was found in any source located, though the canyon appears on Serbian listings of the country's most notable gorges.

TechnicalA 1.2 mi canyon on the Vučjanka, a right tributary of the Veternica, cut into crystalline schist on the north slope of Mount Kukavica between the Kitka (3,241 ft) and Samarić (2,031 ft) summits. The canyon loses 984 ft over that 1.2 mi, which packs it with waterfalls, cascades and plunge pools. The signature feature is Đokini virovi, a stepped pair of pools in the middle reach: the upper sits under a 30 ft waterfall in a section only 16 ft wide and is 8 ft deep, the lower under a 36 ft waterfall and 15 ft deep. Operators describe rope descents of the waterfalls, squeezing between rock and swimming the pools. Rappel count is not published and no ACA style grade exists.
SeasonCommercial departures run June through September. The published 2026 calendar opens 21 June.
Flood riskModerate to high, and complicated by infrastructure. A hydroelectric plant dating to 1903 sits at the lower end of the canyon near Đokini virovi, so flow answers to the plant as well as to storms on Kukavica. No public gauge and no operator guidance on release schedules was found. Confirm flow with the operator rather than assuming a natural regime.
Vehicle accessPaved to Vučje, 18 km southwest of Leskovac. Operators run transport from Niš. Final approach road standard is not documented.
CrowdFixed commercial departure dates roughly fortnightly in summer, plus private bookings with a 7 person minimum. Outside those, Đokini virovi draws hikers and swimmers rather than technical parties.
