Vero (Upper)
The upper Vero is as much an open air museum as a canyon: its route passes three rock art shelters, Paleolithic paintings at the Cueva de la Fuente del Trucho, Levantine hunting scenes at Arpan, and schematic figures at Mallata. It runs a circular course out of Alquezar past the ruins of an Islamic era castle and a medieval bridge.
This listing covers the hiking and cultural route side of the upper Vero; RopeWiki's own page for it is essentially empty, infobox only, no descent beta. The circular route from Alquezar runs about six hours with roughly 800 meters of elevation change, rated moderate on Spain's MIDE scale, and the park has since built wooden stairs and elevated walkways at the rock art sites. Permit status for a technical descent of this stretch is not established from the sources checked; treat it as unverified rather than assuming open access.
