Vacca

verified Ungraded Unknown flood risk Quenza, Corse-du-Sud

Vacca is Purcaraccia's short, mellow neighbor in the same Quenza drainage, about a hundred meters of drop over a kilometer, with most obstacles jumpable after the usual checks.

Watch for a siphon near the approach to the falls. It is poorly visible and genuinely dangerous, and the return route is also reported as hard to follow. Vacca shares Quenza's access rule with Purcaraccia: a municipal order dated 29 April 2024 replaced the prior summer only prefectural bans and does not state a seasonal window in its published summary, so the guide requirement may now run year round rather than just July through September. The same commune was also briefly closed to all canyons by wildfire order in mid 2025; that ban has since lifted, but it is a reminder the valley carries fire risk alongside its water hazards.
