AtlasOman - Western Hajar

Snake Gorge (Wadi Bimah)

verified ACA 3C Extreme flood risk Bilad Sayt, OM

Oman's signature canyon: long abseils, jumps, and swims through a deep limestone slot in the Western Hajar, with one of the most committing flash-flood profiles in the Middle East.

The two branches share a name (Snake) and confuse newcomers: the West (Bimah, the short branch) is a walk-through with minimal vertical content, while the East (Bani Awf, the long branch) is the full technical day. Commercial operators run the East branch from Muscat. Wetsuit standard in winter water. Dress modestly outside the water for Omani cultural norms.
