High flood risk
Hanksville, UT
The Swell's canonical keeper-pothole proving ground, with roughly a dozen potholes and usually two in keeper mode on any given descent.
This is where Utah parties go to practice partner-assist and pothole escape gear. The bypass route is on canyon-right and well documented in Road Trip Ryan. Carry potshots, sand sacks, or hooked aid solutions; do not enter without a plan for the keepers. The Muddy Creek exit option is a long day but avoids the upcanyon return on the standard out-and-back.
