Eight rappels drop 240 meters through Guara limestone near Bierge, the biggest of them a 45 meter overhanging plunge.
The rule behind the existing verify with land manager note is specific: canyoning is closed here from March 1 through June 30 without express park authorization, timed to protect Egyptian vultures nesting on a ledge above the first big rappel. Outside that window, watch for a serious trap pothole partway down. The canyon runs dry most of the year but can load up fast after a storm.
