High Spur Canyon
A long set of narrows and then a single 85 foot rappel. RopeWiki's own line is that the crux is the drive to the trailhead, which is fair: NP-777 has two slickrock sections that want high clearance.
Friendly to a beginner provided somebody in the group knows what they are doing. Getting there means heading east from UT 24 on the Lower San Rafael Road, through two T intersections, onto the Roost Road past the Hans Flat Ranger Station, then NP-777. Give yourself the daylight, because five to eight hours in the canyon sits on top of a long dirt drive. The exit is easy to walk past: about ten minutes below the technical section a large side canyon on the right is the obvious break, with sandy talus and two fourth class moves that are worth a body belay for anyone new. Above that you cross cryptobiotic soil on a canyoneer trail, so stay on it, and the return is roughly two miles east on BLM 1202. Camping on BLM ground needs no permit, but the drive passes through Glen Canyon NRA and camping there requires a backcountry permit from Hans Flat, open 0800 to 1400.
