Hidrofobia

verified ACA 3C Unknown flood risk Potrero Redondo, Nuevo Leon (Santiago municipality)

A fantastic canyon for those that like jumps, this canyon has countless jumps. The single rappel might also be bypassed, albeit with a very technical jump.

This is the natural continuation of Chipitin, usually run as a separate day since it needs no rope work of its own. Lifejackets are required and enforced by Proteccion Civil, mostly in high season, and with good reason: parties report over half a kilometer of swimming across dozens of deep pools. The optional 30 foot jump called the Cube clears some hidden rocks and is best scouted by downclimbing first. A local near the start may ask 60 pesos per person, and the exit follows an ATV track upstream from the confluence with Matacanes to reach the road at Las Adjuntas.

Logistics

PermitNo formal permit per RopeWiki's infobox. A local near the start may charge an informal trailhead fee, about 60 MXN per person. Lifejackets are required and enforced by Proteccion Civil in high season.
