Reached via the Tschingelsee trailhead above Kiental, Gries is usually run in November or December and often paired with the neighboring Gamchi upstream.
Drive from Spiez through Reichenbach and Kiental toward Griesalp / Hotel Waldrand, then park at the Tschingelsee lot past the lake, where a parking fee applies. On foot, follow the PostBus Adventure Trail past the Hexenkessel to a wooden dam; the tour finishes back at the same Tschingelsee lot.
