A short, approachable descent in Serra da Canastra National Park. Five quartzite rappels with wide ramp drops, starting from an old dam and ending in a deep pool.
This is the gateway Canastra descent: 0.4 mile route, two hour day, no shuttle, year round. Useful as a warmup before Inferno or as a standalone. First integral descent August 4, 2015. Same red-tape caution as Inferno: park is ICMBio-managed and rules can change.
