Farias Narrows

verified ACA 3C II High flood risk São João d'Aliança, GO

Brazil's closest analogue to the Zion Narrows. A deep quartzite gorge in the Veadeiros Plateau with six rappels, long swims, and walls running hundreds of feet.

One of the few Brazilian descents that reads as genuine slot morphology rather than a tall waterfall rappel. The lower exit is long and hikers do come up from the bottom. The R3 rabbit hole is the signature obstacle. Pair with Capetinga Falls (adjacent drainage) for a Veadeiros doubleheader, though the Capetinga 225 foot rappel is a different style of day.
