Egypt 4 Canyon
No rappels anywhere in it, and still rated X. Egypt 4 is a pure stemming canyon, roughly 1.4 miles of technical ground worked between sculpted walls up to 40 feet off the deck.
What wears people out is not the height, it is the rhythm. The walls widen and pinch over and over, so you drop to the floor and fight your way back up repeatedly across about eight tenths of a mile of slot, and one upclimb between narrow walls runs about 35 feet and is genuinely taxing. Knee and elbow armor earns its weight, and carry more water than the mileage suggests. A 30 or 40 foot piece of webbing is sensible as a bailout even though nothing here is bolted. A few pools hold water and can be avoided with effort, so expect a plunge if you slip. The shorter approach starts from the Egypt 5 and Neon parking area rather than routefinding across from Egypt 3. Hole in the Rock Road is passenger car ground most of the time and wants high clearance after rain.
