Plan on an overnight for this one: it is remote, largely bolted with a few natural anchors mixed in, and carries the most water of any canyon draining east into Kanangra Creek. Check the river gauge (station 212260) before committing. Under 250 ML a day is a fun level, 250 to 400 ML a day slows things down considerably with wet, slippery going, and above 500 ML a day the canyon is not really advisable. Twelve main abseils take you down, the longest around 55 metres, plus an optional slot section with a few more drops. For the way out, the Mt Paralyser ridge and Whalania Gorge (with some bush bashing and roughly 200 metres of climbing) are the two usual options.
