Dandahra Canyon
Rated the best canyon in this batch: nine rappels down to about 65 metres, reached by a long easy creek walk that only turns vertical near the falls.
River flow is tracked at the Dandahra Creek at Gibraltar Range gauge (station 204056); the canyon has reportedly run comfortably at 91 ML a day. Get in either via the path toward Barra Nula Cascades on Little Dandahra Creek, or head straight to the top of the falls on the unmarked track from Lyrebird Rock. Rig a retrievable redirect on the descent, or carry gear to build and leave one. The exit is two short bolted climbs up the ridge to the right of the falls (the first around grade 10 to 12 on five closely spaced bolts, the second an awkward boulder move on three bolts); the ridge itself is loose and brittle, so favor its right hand side. It is a long haul from Sydney, worth pairing with a night at Mulligans Campground.
