Chinle Wash
Not a slot but a long wash walk. Chinle Wash carries the drainage out of Canyon de Chelly north to the San Juan River, cutting through the southern tail of Comb Ridge on the way.
The point on file here is the mouth, where Chinle Wash meets the San Juan about nine miles northeast of Mexican Hat. Everything upstream of that confluence is Navajo Nation land, so this is not a BLM day use pass situation and the Cedar Mesa permit system does not apply. The atlas carries no permit rule for it; contact the Navajo Nation before planning a trip rather than assuming open access. Ancestral Puebloan sites are scattered along the stretch where Comb Ridge follows the wash. Note also that the recorded 25 mile length and the 3 hour time do not describe the same trip, so treat both as loose.
