Low flood risk
Praia Grande, SC
Mid-tier basalt descent in the Praia Grande cluster. Ten rappels including underwater mid-stream anchors and a mandatory waterfall crossing on rope.
Locally also called Sinister Canyon. A solid pick between the short Goteiras and the long-commitment Malacaras and Indios Coroados. The R8 waterfall crossing on rappel is the signature feature: traverse across the flow while still on rope. The underwater anchor sequence is also unusual; pre-trip review of the route is mandatory.
