Boundary Canyon

Ten rappels down a flowing watercourse that regulars describe as a scaled down Kolob, sculpted the whole way, with a 100 foot drop off bolts as the second rappel.

The exit is what catches people. The standard finish drops to the confluence with Kolob Creek and out the MIA trail, which crosses land owned by the LDS Church, and RopeWiki says written permission is required first (requestRLA@ChurchofJesusChrist.org). Continuing down Kolob to the Narrows instead means a Narrows day use permit, plus a Kolob camping permit if you sleep out there. There is a sneak exit roughly 500 feet below the last rappel, a climbable drainage that puts you on a saddle above R1, but any fixed ropes there were left by other parties and winter strips them, so do not plan on finding one. Park at West Rim Access; the road beyond is gated, so the approach starts with dirt road walking and overgrown trail through the woods. Combining R2 and R3 is tempting and is how ropes get stuck around the logs in the watercourse.
