The upper Bendola is one of the longest descents in this corner of the Alpes-Maritimes: 43 rappels through 11500 meters of limestone, dropping 1500 meters total. Figure 9 hours on a fast day and up to 17 on a slow one, spring only.
The 32 km shuttle is required, not optional, so plan on two vehicles. Commitment rating V is the highest in this batch: expect a long, remote day with no easy bailout given the scale involved.
