Agua Fria's upper section drops through limestone travertine on eight rappels in quick succession, several over a hundred feet, with real exposure at some anchor stations. It connects toward La Barranca and Puente de Dios, but that lower half is a separate, longer day not described on this page.
At several stations it is worth staying clipped to the next anchor before disconnecting from the last, given the exposure. The exit trail is well built, with stonework gaining nearly 1,000 vertical feet in half a mile, and the GPS track can be trusted end to end.
