A short, two-rap canyon just outside Queenstown on Lake Wakatipu, the standard introductory descent for the region.

Doable in under an hour, which makes it a good warm-up canyon or after-work objective for Queenstown locals. Didymo present in the Wakatipu catchment, follow Check Clean Dry protocol. Sandflies present at the parking but exit is short. Canyon Explorers guides it commercially.

Logistics

Permit	No permit required.
Time	45 min to 1.5 hr (10 to 15 min approach, 30 min to 1 hr descent, ~5 min exit)
Technical	Two short rappels, longest about 6 m. Native grade 3C I per ropewiki, ACA v2a3 II. A featureful but bite-sized canyon with jumps, swims, and a short technical section. The entry-level Queenstown commercial canyon.
Season	Nov to Mar.
Flood risk	Moderate. Very short canyon and quick exit, but small flow swings still close the descent at high water. Cancel after recent storms.
Vehicle access	2WD car to the 12 Mile Delta carpark off Glenorchy-Queenstown Road.
Crowd	Heavy in season. Commercial guides run it daily, plus private parties stack up on summer weekends.
